Soccer, as with any type of sport requires some fundamental skills – and these skills that can be developed in many different ways. One popular method is by observing the particular skill that you wish to acquire or coach.
Once a player has understood the basic concept of the skill, it’s imperative for them to take action and put their newly acquired knowledge to work – more often than not by a process of trial and error. (In fact isn’t this how we learn everything?).
Therefore a skill must be practiced repeatedly in order to be mastered. We’re not looking for perfection here, but we’re looking for progress.
In other words, we’re looking for excellence – by doing the best with whatever resources there are at our disposal.
